Hackerspace First Aid

Be ready to act in an emergency! This hands-on course prepares you to provide critical, life-saving care for injuries or illnesses until professional medical help arrives.

Note: A 4--6 hour online e-learning module must be completed prior to the in-person skills session.

Topics to be covered: 

• One- and two-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants
• Use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs)
• Bleeding management
• Assisting choking victims
• Responding to a person in shock.
• conducting secondary assessments
• Splinting
• Responding to medical emergencies.
